Lore Locus: The Unforgettable History of Aelimfor, the High Elven Race

The Aelimfor are a mysterious race of high elves, isolated from the world and forgotten by many, yet their lore has been passed down throughout the generations. They are a secluded people who live in a faraway land, protected by magic from the strife of the world beyond. With their magical prowess and unearthly grace, it is no surprise that their name conjures fear and reverence amongst the younger races. Now, let us take a journey through the forgotten tales and legends of the Aelimfor to discover their unforgettable history.

The Origin of Aelimfor

In the vast world of Nuterra, the Aelimfor are a race of high elves that have captured the imagination of many. These beings are the taller, more isolated cousins of the Aelfor; another elven race of the same origins. Legend has it that both races descended from the Aelim, children of gods who fled an ancient war of the heavens. When the younger races, such as the humans, orcs, and goblins, began their attacks, the Aelim people split in two, with those who became the Aelimfor seeking refuge and seclusion on the enigmatic Echos Islands.

What truly sets the Aelimfor apart is their rich history and their resilience. Their parent race, the Aelim, were the first to recover from the chaos that ended the “Age of Myth and Bronze,” a time of great upheaval and change in the realm. They were able to weather the storm and rebuild their civilization, drawing upon their innate magical abilities, long lives, and memories of the past. Their isolation on the Echos Islands has allowed the Aelimfor to cultivate their own unique philosophies and cultural traditions. Despite this, an unwavering belief in the power of their own magic, an unshakable sense of superiority, and a deep understanding of the mind have allowed the Aelimfor to manipulate the world outside of their islands in secret for generations. Physical Characteristics and Abilities

The Aelimfor are distinct in their physical appearance and abilities. They are tall and slender, with pale skin that often has tints of blue or green. Their pointed ears are a clear indication of their Aelim heritage. They can grow as tall as 6’10”, rivaling some humans in height, but are very lightweight, coming to only half the weight of a similarly sized man. In addition to their unique appearance, the Aelimfor possess innate magical abilities, known as Aelven magic. This is available to all Aelimfor, regardless of their profession or background. They are highly empathetic, making them excellent diplomats and manipulators. These traits, combined with their magical abilities, make them powerful figures in the world, and offer a myriad of possibilities in influencing the roleplay. Understanding the physical characteristics and abilities of the Aelimfor is a crucial element for any roleplayer who wishes to fully engage with this fascinating race.

Relationships with other races

The Aelimfor are known for their remarkable isolation on the Echos Islands. Surrounded by a magical storm and protected by a leviathan beast, these islands serve as a hidden sanctuary for the Aelimfor. It is said that nobody, except for the Aelimfor themselves, knows how to enter or leave the islands.

This seclusion, along with their godly heritage, has contributed to the Aelimfor’s belief in their superiority over all other races, including their fellow elves, the Aelfor, who are seen as backwater fools clinging to the past. The Kaskine and Vaurl (cat-people and beast-people, respectively) are considered mere animals. All other races are regarded as useful idiots that can be manipulated towards their goals. The Aelimfor influence “lesser" governments through espionage, magic, and manipulation. They do not believe in forming alliances or engaging in diplomacy with other races unless it serves their own interests. Their isolationism and superior attitude have naturally caused tension and conflicts with other races. Living in cities made of marble and gold, they see themselves as a race apart, elevated above the rest. Their physical characteristics and abilities, which are awe-inspiring in their own right, only strengthen their conviction of superiority. While the Aelimfor are primarily secluded on the Echos Islands, occasionally, individual Aelimfor will discreetly leave in search of knowledge or to engage in espionage. However, it is important to note that even those who venture beyond their homeland always yearn for home, and they never truly sever their ties with their people and culture. The isolation of the Aelimfor has fostered a unique philosophy among them. They place great value on preserving their ancient knowledge, traditions, and practices. Their devotion to their culture and their belief in their own exceptionalism serve as pillars that maintain their unity and way of life. The Philosophy of Aelimfor

The Aelimfor possess a unique philosophy that shapes their way of life. Rooted in their seclusion, the Aelimfor have developed a deep sense of caution and secrecy. They are slow to react to the outside world, preferring instead to observe and manipulate events from the shadows. This adaptability has allowed them to thrive despite their isolation. Most Aelimfor have limited interest in the outside world, choosing to leave their seclusion only for specific pursuits or as an escape from something. They have learned to prioritize their own goals and ambitions, rarely getting entangled in the affairs of other races or civilizations. The longevity of the Aelimfor also influences their philosophy. With a lifespan of 6-7 centuries, they grow more reckless with age, pushing boundaries and taking risks that younger generations might shy away from. This is also how the otherwise immortal race usually meets its end. The philosophy of the Aelimfor is a delicate balance between caution and adaptability. It is shaped by their seclusion, longevity, and their understanding that the world around them will continue to march forward. While they may seem distant and detached from the world, their approach to life is intricately woven into their very being, ensuring the survival and prosperity of their race.
